HELP/INFORMATION: : Following recent articles/letters in Model Engineer,
I'm tempted to make piston rings and slide valves for my loco out of bronze
loaded ptfe. Best price I've managed to get is £40 +vat for a 12" length of
41mm diameter. This is 40% bronze loaded. Anyone know where I can buy it by
the inch? Failing this, anyone want a share in this piece? 4" is plenty for
one loco

HELP/INFORMATION: I have a boring head which I bought recently and I'm
trying to find out more about it, its made by a company called C-H and is a
model D-100. Its possibly Spanish or Portugese. It seem to be high quality and
instead of the usual allen bolt in the side for adjustment the body turns,
each full turn is 1.5mm of adjustment and its graduated to give 1/100mm
adjustment. The two problems I have is that its currently on a ISO30 shank
which is removable and I would like a MT2 or 3, also I'm unsure as to its
value - it looks unused and its still in its wooden box with 4 HSS tools.
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful!!

FOR SALE: SIP Hurricane (21525) compressor. 5.0 FAD CFM, 1.5HP, 1PH,
118 PSI (max) and 24 litre tank (do I get a prize for the most TLAs in an
advert?) £80 or near offer (around £140 new).
The compressor has had light usage, good for spraying and supplying air to
rolling chassis (it was fine on Midge, but rapidly ran out of breath on the
Hunslet!) It saves a lot of hassle when blowing up your car tyres as well.
Not too heavy (21kg) but collection only from Trowbridge.
Why am I selling - I've got a bigger one!

HELP/INFORMATION: HELP; I have been offered a Denford Easiturn CNC lathe
with the PNC2C control software,the machine is in very good condition having
seen very little use or abuse.i would like some information about the machine
& its operation as it a system i know nothing about.
Is the machine accurate in turning & able to repeat this over small batch
quantities? I presume that the machine can screwcut both imperial & metric
threads? What is the size of hole through the spindle?
I know the PNC2C operating system is a bit on the old side & possibly not easy
to get repaired if anything should go wrong,has anybody out there updated their
machine to more modern standards i would be very interested to talk to you.

Cabinet stand with a 5" raising frame bolted to the bottom to give a better
working height, easily removed if required. Adjustable resilient feet.
Fitted with the double dovetail head raising overarm which gives 2" move head
to table clearance and means that the horizontal arbour can be used without
removing the head. Fast traverse lever etc.
Comes with horizontal arbour, correct Centec vice and Centec dividing head

HELP/INFORMATION: I am thinking of purchasing a Chester 626 turret mill.
Does anyone have experience of this mill? One problem I see is the weight of
this machine.
Does machine come fully assembled? If so can it be easily stripped to enable
it to be moved to workshop and quickly rebuilt?
Is there an alternative new or secondhand? The main requirment is being able
to raise or lower the table or head and preserve alignment.

MEW). Serial number K38762 is a single phase imperial machine and has done
less than 10 perfect hours running since it was purchased from the factory by

antivibration machine mount feet. It has supported only the early stages of
the building of a Winson Britannia 5 gauge Loco. I am selling this as a

Belt Drive Back Geared Lathe. Serial Number is 4583A for anyone who knows
about these things. Lathe is in good order with no wear in any of the moving
parts. The only defect I am aware of is that the changewheel carrier bracket
is broken, however this is a clean break and should repair easily. Mounted
on original cast iron stand. Accessories with the lathe include: 3 & 4 jaw
chucks, two faceplates (8 and 4"), Vertical slide, compound cross slide, rear
toolpost (with parting tool), Fixed steady (Home made but well engineered),
assorted changewheels, assorted tooling, original Myford Tool Rest for freehand
turning. Also included is a piece of lineshafting and bearings with an
appropriate stepped pulley to hang in the roof for a drive, plus a 0.5hp single

HELP/INFORMATION: I am looking for information on a small flexispeed
lathe. The one that I have (just recently obtained) is in original light blue
paint and has a substantial, Acme form, leadscrew.
The word 'Flexispeed' is cast into the foot of the bed. It looks identical to
a picture of a Simat 101 that I have been shown. I am looking for drawings,
parts lists, instructions etc to bring it into working order as I want to use
it for making a clock.
The screw cutting and feed gearing etc is missing but everything else seems

WANTED: A Lorch LAS, yes I know they are a rarity but there must be
more than the one I just missed a couple of months ago !
Condition less important than price, it has to be affordable ! I would like
good mechanical but cosmetic not so important but I would consider anything if
restoration feasable.
Prefer imperial but metric acceptable. Accessories would be nice to have but I
would be happy with a complete basic machine if the price and mechanical
condition was acceptable.
